About AWC
Advanced Weatherproofing Consultants (AWC) is a California business established in 2006 to provide expert roof and weatherproofing management and consulting services to building owners and managers. AWC is an association of professional consultants with combined construction related management experiences in excess of 60 years.
AWC is dedicated to serving our clients needs, protecting our clients interests and conserving our clients resources. AWC specializes in assisting clients in establishing roof management strategies for maintaining, correcting, repairing, or replacing existing roof systems and weatherproofing the exterior of the building.
Code of Ethics
Believing that honesty and integrity, high ideals and concern for the welfare of the construction industry are both desirable and necessary, and in a sincere effort to promote the objectives of the institute, members of CSI pledge themselves to:
- Establish and maintain high standards of professional conduct.
- Freely interchange information and experience with members of the construction community.
- Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
- Avoid conflicts of interest.
- Avoid misrepresentation of products and services.
- Promote improvement of construction communications, techniques, and procedures.

Qualifications
Currently, roofing consultants are not required by State law to be licensed,and are not regulated by any State or Federal agency. Recognizing this,Advanced Weatherproofing Consultants is dedicated to the protectionof our clients, the advancement of the roofing industry, and continuingeducation in regard to roofing material, procedures, problems andsolutions.
The principal founder of Advanced Weatherproofing Consultants hasexperience of over 30 years in the construction industry and has been alicensed contractor in the State of California since 1976.
The Senior consultant at Advanced Weatherproofing Consultants has been a member in good standing of ‘National Roofing ContractorsAssociation’, (NRCA), ‘Western States Roofing Contractors Association’(WSRCA), ‘Construction Specifications Institute’ (CSI), ‘American societyfor Testing and Materials’ (ASTM) and ‘Roof Consultants Institute’ ( RCI).
NRCA and WSRCA are associations of Roofing contractors, manufacturers,specifiers and consultants established to keep all their members informedon vital and up-to-date information concerning the roofing industry. CSIwas founded to improve specification writing, simplify specifications,standardize building codes, standardize specifications for governmentwork at all levels, and study new materials and processes to substitutefor those made more costly or scarce by the post WWII years. ASTM in an organization that provides a forum for producers, users, ultimateconsumers, and those having a general interest (representatives ofgovernment and academia) to meet on common ground and writestandards for materials, products, systems and services. RCI is anorganization of roof consultants who desire to bring a higher level ofprofessionalism and ethics to the industry, and to provide a means ofcommunication and information exchange. The Roof and WeatherproofingConsultants of Advanced Weatherproofing Consultants are dedicated to the goals of these organization and active participation therein.
Insurance
Advanced Weatherproofing Consultants maintains a worker’s compensation policy through State Fund.
In addition, all AWC certified roofers, prior to contract award, are required to maintain insurance policies of liability and worker’s compensation, naming the owners as additional insured.
As an option, AWC certified bidders are capable of providing performance and labor/material bonds as an addition to any contract amount.
